083 - "Bill & Ted Face the Music" (2020)

Today Dustin & Cameron are hopping in the telephone booth to take a look at "Bill & Ted Face the Music", a sequel that comes 29 years after the last "Bill & Ted" movie. The two break down how this movie breaks the cycle of delayed sequels typically not being able to capture previous magic, Alex Winter stealing the show, the movie's nods to nostalgia without being overly reliant, and much, much more. Thanks for listening, enjoy your Monday, have a good start to the week and stay safe out there.

Today Dustin & Katarina are diving into the Netflix superhero action movie "Project Power", starring Jamie Foxx, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Dominique Fishback. They talk about what powers they would or wouldn't want to have if the Power drug existed, wonder if anything is worth the risk if the risk is that you could possibly explode, and much more. Thanks for listening and helping to spread the word, have a feel-good Friday, enjoy the weekend, and stay safe out there.

081 - "Last Action Hero" (1993)

Grab your magical golden ticket because today Dustin & Cameron are revisiting the Arnold Schwarzenegger meta-masterpiece, "Last Action Hero." They talk about why the movie wasn't critically or commercially well-received and how it signaled a transition in Arnold's career going forward, they try to figure out what movies they would want to go into if they had a golden ticket, they wonder why this property hasn't already been remade and rebooted a dozen times and what a remake would likely be about, and much more. This is an Arnold gem that needs to be seen again and again to truly appreciate all the crazy self-referential parodies of Arnold movies and action movies in general. Thanks for listening and helping to spread the word, have a good Monday, and stay safe out there.

080 - "the One & Only Ivan" (2020)

Today Dustin & Katarina are breaking down the newest movie to hit Disney Plus, "the One & Only Ivan" starring Bryan Cranston and a number of Academy-Award winning actors in voice roles. The two wonder about how much they'd be willing to pay to go to Cranston's strip mall circus show, just how much a movie with talking animals can be "inspired by a true story", and argue about if Ivan's "act" was worthy of its' headlining spot. Thanks for listening and helping to spread the word, have a good Monday, and stay safe out there.

079 - "the Exorcist" (1973)

For Part Two of their dive into possession movies, Dustin & Cameron are checking out what is widely considered one of the scariest movies ever made, 1973's "the Exorcist". They compared this movie to "the Conjuring" films and attempt to explain what makes this movie so much bleaker. After breaking down possessed Regan's habit of slapping everyone in sight and what possibly could've happened once everything was over and they moved, the guys go in on the news that Morgan Creek is planning a remake to hit theaters in 2021. They run down the studio's list of questionable films and then get lost trying to decide who should even be cast in the movie's iconic roles. We hope you enjoy the double episodes, have a good weekend and stay safe out there.

078 - "the Conjuring 1 & 2"

What's better than one movie about possession? THREE! Today Dustin & Cameron are doubling down with two episodes and they're starting with the adventures of Ed & Lorraine Warren. While breaking down just what makes "the Conjuring" movies so successful with audiences & critics compared to other movies and even compared to other movies in the "Conjuring" shared universe, they talk about how they feel about the movies, why they see the sequel as the better movie, how they would handle a demonic possession, and much, much more. Thanks for listening and always helping to spread the word, hope you like the episodes, have a good Friday and enjoy the weekend.

077 - "the Nice Guys" (2016)

Today Dustin & Cameron are revisiting the underrated 2016 neo-noir comedy "the Nice Guys" starring Russell Crowe & Ryan Gosling as a pair of mismatched investigators trying to crack a missing persons' case. The two cover Dustin's love of Ryan Gosling, how the performances of the actors elevate a Shane Black script that uses all of his favorite hallmarks and tropes to new highs, and just how funny the movie is. This is sneakily one of 2016's best movies and if you missed it when it first released, now is the perfect time to check it out. Thanks for listening and continuing to help us spread the word, enjoy your Wednesday, and stay safe out there.

076 - "Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)" (2020)

After hitting HBO Max over the weekend, "Birds of Prey" aka "Harley Quinn: Birds of Prey" aka "Harley Quinn (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)" has seen more viewers discover the movie after its' disappointing theatrical release earlier this year. With that in mind, Dustin & Cameron reflect on their first impressions of the movie including the solid ensemble cast, the disappointing lack of Birds of Prey team action, Ewan McGregor's insane performance as Black Mask and his incredible wardrobe, and much more.

The conversation takes a turn from there as they find themselves discussing the toxic masculinity that likely impacted the film's box office and other female-led films and media. If you missed this movie when it first came out or haven't seen it recently, it's worth checking out again for sure. Thanks for listening and continuing to help spread the word. Have a good Monday and stay safe out there.

075 - “Scott Pilgrim vs the World” (2010)

“We are Empty Your Queue and we’re here to make you feel old and depressed as you realize that ‘Scott Pilgrim vs the World’ is 10 years old now!”

To celebrate the movie's 10th anniversary, Dustin & Cameron are sharing their experiences of seeing the movie and Cameron goes over why he didn't like it at first, they run through the absolutely stacked cast, debate what the most memorable part of the movie is, why it didn't have much box office success in 2010 when it was released, and much, much more. Thank you all for listening, sharing episodes, following along, all of it is very appreciated. Let's get out there and have a great Friday and enjoy the weekend. Stay safe out there.

Could I Survive...a Nightmare on Elm Street?

After a pretty good reception and debut last week, Dustin & Cameron are back with another installment of Could I Survive and today they're wondering what their chances are when confronting Freddy Krueger in "a Nightmare on Elm Street". The two have very different strategies for how they'd approach the situation and when things seem their bleakest, decide to wonder if they'd do any better in "the Simpsons: Treehouse of Horror" parody version with Groundskeeper Willie in the Freddy role. Thanks for listening and helping to spread the word, have a good Wednesday and stay safe out there.
